Investment Team

Quoc spent over 14 years in investment management, first at Guggenheim Partners, and later at Goldman Sachs. His work has taken him across the US, India, China, and Japan. Having experienced both the financial crisis and the bull-market thereafter, Quoc became interested in ways to compound wealth without the volatility of the equity markets. He has been investing in real estate for over 12 years, and owns properties in Columbus, Seattle, and Tokyo. Quoc holds an MBA from New York University, and is a Certified Financial Analyst.

Jason spent 15 years in management consulting at Deloitte, PwC, and A.T. Kearney. In his early career in the US he helped technology and financial services clients transform their business to take advantage of technology disruption. With a move to Japan he transitioned into M&A, supporting strategy and due diligence on cross-border deals in the technology, consumer products, and industrials sectors. This combined background in tech and investment has helped him position the Pre-IPO Equity funds for success. Jason holds a BS and MS in Technology from Purdue University.

Dean has spent 20 years as an Entrepreneurial CEO in Japan. He founded and led Rosetta Stone Learning Centers (Dean Morgan K.K.) to a buyout by Link and Motivation Group (TSE: 2170) in 2017. He has co-founded multiple companies with several successful exits. His early career began in private money management, before coming to Japan with ERP software company Blue Yonder (then JDA). He now serves as a veteran investor and board member on several for-profit and nonprofit entities. He holds a BS in Japanese from UCLA and is an Alumni of Harvard Business School’s OPM (47) Program.

John has spent his career assisting clients on cross-border matters, including fund formation and fund investment transactions. From 1997 to 2002, he was at Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto, CA, where he led the firm’s Japan practice. From 2002 to 2006, he was a partner at Morgan Lewis & Bockius in Tokyo. Since 2006, John has run his own practice (JSV Foreign Law Office) and is currently an adjunct lecturer at Hitotsubashi University. John is a member of the State Bar of California and a Registered Foreign Lawyer in Japan. He holds a BA in psychology from Cornell University.

Cheryl has extensive project management experience in both corporate and non-profit settings, more recently leading Asia projects for a major athletic wear company. Cheryl heads up our client operations efforts, coordinating the onboarding, investment, and communication with potential and existing partners. She has a Bachelor’s of Chemistry from Denison University and a Project Management Professional Certification.
